MWF65 Tintern Abbey and the Devil’s Pulpit 22 May 2026

Tintern is one of the most impressive ruinous Abbey’s in the country, for the walls of the great Church remain intact rising to their full height and pierced by soaring windows that flood the interior with light. It lies in the beautiful Wye Valley – a walk with spectacular views which initially follows the Wye Gorge downstream before climbing to return above the valley along Offa’s Dyke. Passed along the way is the Devil’s Pulpit, a rocky outcrop overlooking the Abbey far below.

This walk follows woodland paths and tracks with some hill climbing and ends with a walk back along the River Wye to the car park by the Abbey where we can enjoy afternoon tea and cake as a reward. Please bring stout walking boots and sufficient refreshments.
