As a not-for-proft organisation – the Malvern Walking Festival donates monies to local charities that it raises during the festival – and one of our long time favourites is the Midlands Air Ambulance.
The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity operates a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. It operates three aircraft.
Every emergency flight it has to make costs them around £3,000 and they are totally dependant on donations to carry out their vital and live saving work.
