T01B Worcestershire Way in 3 Days: Day 2, Sunday 28 May
The 31-mile Worcestershire Way is a diverse and attractive route covering a wide variety of landscapes and terrains. Riverside walking, hill climbs and diverse woodlands all feature. Even over 3 days it is a challenge.
On Day 2, after passing the 19th century Italianate mansion of Abberley Hall, and the magnificent, prominent Abberley clock tower, we climb steeply to Woodbury Hill Fort. We continue high above the River Teme on a long ridge, eventually descending to a highly scenic riverside section. From near Martley we climb Ankerdine Hill and walk on to the hamlet of Knightwick, nestling in the Teme Valley.
There are several ascents and descents and stiles to negotiate, some of them steep.
Today please meet in Knightwick; the minibus will take us to Abberley and we walk back to Knightwick.
Bring enough food and drink for the day.
