We start with a short train ride from Colwall to Ledbury. From Ledbury station, we pass through the attractive Herefordshire town of Ledbury with its 17th century market hall, originally a grain store and church. Then through woods and along field tracks to reach Eastnor Church. From here the walk takes us through Eastnor Park and steeply uphill to a 90ft Obelisk, a monument erected by the local Somers family. We now start the gradual ascent of Hangmans Hill and follow the ridge to the 2nd century BC iron-age fort on the Herefordshire beacon. This is the highest point of the walk at 1100ft with magnificent views We descend to the British Camp car park where there are refreshments and toilets. A short steep descent takes us to the hamlet of Evendine. From here field paths take us back to Colwall station. 6 stiles and up and down of 1,700 feet.

Meet at the front of Colwall Railway Station at 9.30am in good time to catch the 9.52 to Ledbury. If the 2025 timetable changes you will be advised. Park on adjoining streets. Bring a packed lunch to eat at British Camp, weather permitting.
