MWF24 A Walk through Time Sun 25 May 2025
A walk through the area of Malvern known through history as ‘Barnards Green’. This includes the present day Barnards Green and down to Guarlford. It is an area full of history covering over 2000 years. It includes:
- The current shopping area of Barnards Green
- Pound Bank
- Saxon and early Medieval Malvern
- Guarlford Church
- Wood Street – the prehistoric trackway
- A WWII listening station
- Victorian Mill
- Bluebell Inn
- The real location of Barnards Green.
The circular walk is about 5 miles and mostly flat. There are no stiles to climb but there are a couple of upward slopes along Wood Street. If it has been raining, it can be muddy.
The walk will take about 2½-3 hours, depending on how much time we spend investigating the various locations.
