It’s half way through February, and already more than two thirds of available places have been booked. 24 walks are fully booked out of the 75 on offer. All is not lost however – all the walks that are fully booked now have an “Email me when available” button which puts you on a waiting list.
As ever, themed walks are much in demand, and we have doubled up on two: Malvern’s Marvellous Trees, and Malvern’s Fascinating History. There are also two opportunities to learn about Colwall’s industrial past: one, on the first Sunday, is fully booked but there are spaces on the second, MWF73.
The “WW2 hospital sites [walk] was really interesting” was the comment made last year about MWF61 Five Wartime Hospitals – spaces are available. Other walks rating high on the interest scale, and with spaces available, include:
- MWF27 Discovering the King’s Thirds;
- MWF86 Quarrying;
- MWF63 Caring for the Hills;
- MWF66 Diglis and the Fish Pass;
- Two Geology walks: MWF41 Mathon and Malvern Hills Geology and Landscape; and MWF89 Geology of the Southern Hills from Ragged Stone Hill;
- MWF68 Farming in the Teme Valley;
- MWF96 Walking Songs on the Go.
And then there are the countryside walks, covering Eastnor, Old Hills, the Northern Hills, the Southern Hills, the Teme Valley, the country around Cradley, Bringsty, and Bromyard.
Among the Trail walks spaces are available on The Salt Line, a Trail using the most scenic paths linking Malvern, Droitwich and Bromsgrove stations. The Three Choirs Way, Malvern Hills End to End and Back and Worcestershire Way In A Day are both fully booked, but the ever popular if less energetic Worcestershire Way in 3 Days still has spaces.
So, there remains plenty of choice even now – book soon to avoid disappointment!
