The 20th annual Malvern Walking Festival will take place from Saturday 24th May to Sunday 1st June 2025. The website, www.malvernwalking.uk will open for bookings on 1st January 2025.
This year we have a total of 56 walks plus two multi-day trail walks. The multi-day walks are:
- Worcestershire Way over 3 days;
- The Hereford to Worcester section of the Three Choirs Way over 4 days.
As well as the multi-day walks, we offer all-day walks and shorter, half day walks, ranging in distance from 2 miles up to 20 miles. The two most strenuous walks will be the popular 20-mile Malvern Hills End-to-end and Back and the 10-mile Teme Valley Spectacular.
Many of the walks are themed. History alone includes wartime Malvern; Civil War; industry; hill forts; and the King’s Thirds. Some of the other themes:
- Water
- Farming
- Geology and the Geopark Way
- Quarrying
- Nature reserves
- Marvellous trees
- Plant life
- And more
The walks take place on and around the Malvern Hills – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) – and some a bit further afield elsewhere in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and also Gloucestershire.
The difficulty of each walk is graded from Gentle to Strenuous so no-one need let themselves in for more than they can handle.
We have added what3words to walk descriptions as an aid to finding walk start points. Grid references are still given, as well as the less precise postcodes. Grid References can of course be used with OS maps, but also on the website gridreferencefinder.com , which gives the options of OpenStreetMap, and Google Earth as well as OS Maps.
Another new feature this year is the ability to create an account on the website. This enables you to track your orders and join waiting lists for sold-out walks.
We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Walking Year.
